Our Craft Workshops

Culmore Women’s Group established in 2009 meeting weekly with a focus on craft work fairs and women’s development donated  to more than 12 worthy causes and identified the potential  of registering a social enterprise establishing In 2016 Culmore Tourism and Craft Collective.

The aim to establish a Culmore Tourism and Craft Centre and to include the rich heritage of Culmore in tourism visits to the city and region advanced a stage further when members identified the vacant Honourable Irish Society Culmore Victoria Hall as having potential , attended the DAERA mandatory funding workshop in the Foyle Arena in May 2017. and secured an offer of funding eligibility for up to £250k for refurbishment of the Victoria Hall.  Support was then sought and secured from Greater Shantallow Area Partnership, Outer North Neighbourhood Partnership and Culmore Community Partnership for a Culmore Tourism and Heritage Craft Centre in the Victoria Hall.  However agreement was  reached that until  the Council promised 2009 Community Centre is delivered the Hall could provides a much needed community hub .


Our Tourism Heritage

Culmore Tourism and Craft Collective secured membership of the Council Peace Tourism Natural Connections Steering Group during  2019- 2020 which provided Culmore Tourism and Craft Collective with guide training support.. During 2020 Culmore Tourism & Craft Collective secured funding from Community Foundation for inclusion in the UNESCO City of Learning establishing the first Art Heritage class in the regenerated Hall.

Culmore Tourism and Craft Collective in partnership with Culmore Church of Ireland  and Culmore Community Community Partnership secured funding for heritage storyboards from Cooperation Ireland in 2019 and are on display in the regenerated Culmore Victoria Hall Community Hub  since 2021.
